Scutellaria root slices is a dried root of the plant Scutellaria baicalensis, processed and manufactured into a traditional Chinese medicine decoction piece. It is cold in nature and bitter in taste, and it belongs to the meridians of lung, gallbladder, stomach and large intestine. It has the functions of clearing heat, drying dampness, reducing fire and detoxifying, as well as stopping bleeding and stabilizing pregnancy. It is clinically used for conditions such as lung heat cough, damp-heat jaundice, and unstable pregnancy.
